On replacing the kicks

I mentioned in a previous post that my sneakers have a beautiful rip on the side which while not unusual with canvas sneakers, is not exactly fun in the rain. Now that I think of it, I should just get galoshes for the rain. But I get caught in the rain a lot without prior knowledge so I don't know. Regardless, it's time to replace my sneakers. I'm a little annoyed because they barely lasted six months. This pair in specific was a bad purchase.

Here are some of the sneakers I was considering.

Adidas Originals Honey Hi
The practical option. They have these in a bunch of colors, it also becomes a high top. I don't actually want- well no that's a lie. I love white sneakers. But my sneakers usually go on huge 5 mile treks around the city and plus I have a tendency of getting rained on. So white is not practical for this sneaker purchase. I'm trying to replace my everyday sneakers. White sneakers are good for once a week or once every two weeks. So the blue or black is probably what I'll end up with if I get these. Plus the price is in the $40-$50 range.

I posted about these before. This is my number one choice. But I can imagine the conversation with my mom already. She's not going to understand why I need to spend $75 on a pair of sneakers considering the number of sneakers that have fallen apart in my possession in the past few years. Of course I'll point out that those were canvas and then she'll try counter that if I'm going to drop that much on a pair of sneakers I have to throw out at least three other shoes. At that point I may or may (probably) not explain that they're not extra since I wear all of them and that other people have 200 pairs of shoes whereas I have under ten. I'm working on it. When my brother spends $80 (which in my book is practically cheap for men's shoes) on his sneakers my mom usually throws out his old ones, but he doesn't usually mind. I mind. These are only $75 on sale, otherwise they'd be around $140. So $75 isn't bad.

Found these at Karmaloop. They kind of remind me of the Nike Greco sneakers I saw at DSW once (and never saw ever again! those specific ones had this little cartoon dog on the tongue). Naturally I was first drawn to the white ones. But I like the colors on these. They're $65 at Karmaloop, I haven't checked around anywhere else yet.

Of course as my brother puts it, when it comes to which sneakers to buy, the ideas are limitless. We both like sneakers so of course it's not which ones we want but which ones we should actually put down the cash for. Those three I'm actually considering. Now if we're talking about just sneakers in general here are a few I found interesting.

Um... I sort of like these. They remind me of the boardwalk. And Williamsburg (though I'm not sure if that's a good thing). They're so... casual. I love it. It may sound stupid but I get a nice feel from them. But I'm a starving artist so me saying stuff like that isn't unusual.

The canvas sneakers... I can't stay away. I promise though that the design was what drew me in. It's always nice though that they're Chucks :D

I'm actually looking for silver shoes for a wedding. Of course these are not the ones I'm supposed to be looking for.

Shoes Shoes Shoes

So... as anyone who likes Converse and other similar canvas shoes knows, canvas shoes tend to fall apart faster than others. My current Forever21 pair has a beautiful rip on the side. The other shoe doesn't though, but the result is still the same. It rained today and my feet were SOAKED. So today, I'm going to post drool-worthy (at least in my opinion) images of SHOES. I love SHOES.

Oh btw, this is a total eye candy post. So while I may know where some of this stuff can be purchased, for now my focus is to drool. Well I'm not the drooling type so the focus here is to have little hearts appear over your head since everyone knows how much fun that is. I suddenly want to watch certain episodes of O'Grady... However, if anyone wanted to know I can probably find out where to buy this stuff. Except for the ones that aren't sold anymore.

First up: DIANA HIGHTOP WITH ZIPPER SNEAKER by Coogi
I spotted a girl wearing these while I was on the escalator at the mall. She was WORKING it. I'm never assertive enough to go ahead and compliment people on their style but I'm always thinking it. Maybe I should, I'm sure they'd be happy. They also have them in a light blue. This image is from the Dr Jay's website.

But don't go there and try to buy them because they disappeared literally a day after I first saw them there. If you read my last post you'll know what I'm talking about. What was even stranger was the fact that they were a featured item. I'm STILL upset about their disappearance and it's been forever. I really liked these and if they made a comeback I'd totally buy them.

I'm not sure what these were called but apparently Karmaloop.com doesn't sell them anymore. What a sad day this is...

I don't think I need to say much about these. I sort of like the ad more than the shoes. And the tights. But hey, here is a testament to the fact that Coach does indeed make stuff without their brand name plastered everywhere. (Marie Claire)

The Gaga Heel by Zigi
I'm not sure if that has anything to do with Lady Gaga but I did see some celebrity wearing these heels. I'm pretty sure she wasn't Lady Gaga though. Buy them at Karmaloop.com. Wow, I want to wear heels... all I wear are sneakers. I like sneakers but I kind of want to wear heels now.

These are men's sneakers but in the sneaker world you can usually find the same pair for women. However, as this is a screenshot from G-Dragon's Heartbreaker music video... I don't actually know where you'd buy them. I could search them up but I think they're cool more than wearable.

This is cropped from Marie Claire. Seriously, this is an awesome ad. And those shoes...

UPDATE: ...are Christian Louboutin's. I can't find the exact pair but I'm working on it.

Ladies (I really dislike this word) Military Boots: My1stwish.co.uk
I don't like that word mostly because ladies reminds me of women who have garden parties and stick their pinky out while drinking tea. While there's nothing wrong with that, I just don't want to be one of those women. I've always loved combat boots so it's nice that they're in fashion now. I still have my pair from before they became fashionable.

I wasn't going to put any canvas shoes here but no matter how cold my toes get and no matter how many pairs of these I go through, I'm still going to buy them. I've never gotten a white pair before and I've always liked them. I'll just have to not wear them everyday. Canvas sneakers are definitely not everyday shoes. You can buy these literally anywhere.

I heart Guess. But I especially like this heel. It seems painful, but worth it. Image from the Guess website.

Rock & Republic! I came across these on Polyvore. If you're less crazy, you can buy them in all black as well. But I love the blue and grey. Work it! That is if you have the cash, anyway.

Sandal season is coming up. You know, after all this rain. But I totally saw a girl in flip flops today so it's all good. I guess she figured, hey, my feet are going to get soaked anyway. I'd do that but the rain water in the city... bad idea. (Karmaloop.com)

You know, I really like Karmaloop. They have awesome stuff. I think they have this heel in another color too but I'm not sure. There's also the fact that they may have stopped selling it.

If I have my way, these will be my next pair of sneakers. (Karmaloop.com)

And now I'm hungry. Late night dinner!
