Manolo Blahnik Heels on Constance Jablonski for Bon Magazine

I was checking out the Constance: constantly chic workwear editorial over at Fashionising and there was a shoe that definitely sold me on that photoshoot.

You should definitely click on the link above and check out the photoshoot to get the idea. And while you're at neimanmarcus.com you can also effectively be distracted by their fall collection. <3

Birthday!

So I celebrated my birthday today and while that has nothing to do with my blog, it does have a little to do with a post I've been meaning to do.

What I wore:

Monday morning, this came in the mail...
Gasp! It was just as exciting as it looks ;)
Hellz Bellz Top Notch Dress
I'm kind of tired now but I'll update with the picture of the dress I got which is the same, just in turquoise.

Forever 21 Shelf Bra Cami - $3.50
I wore this under the dress. Due to the nature of the straps of the dress you don't really have to worry about bra straps/spaghetti straps of any sort showing.

Elastic Leatherette Belt - $4.80
I also wore this belt about right under the turquoise neckline part.

The dress is awesome and I'm so glad I got it!

Uniqlo Women's Color Legging (Pants)

Interestingly enough they don't have any pictures of the color I got... They have the purple which is okay if you're into that kind of thing and then they have... Sherbet orange... why? That's on my color hate list.

So these were on sale for a whopping 5.90 in the Uniqlo in NY. I got them in blue and they're so comfy. The fit is awesome and as expected from Uniqlo, the fabric is good quality. They have a bunch of other things on sale. I'll probably go check it out tomorrow. Also, these aren't jeggings. They look basically like skinny pants but the front pockets and fly are fake. It has an elastic waistband and comes in non-number sizes (S,M,L,etc. though let's be honest, when I went they had a ton of XS's and a few S's)

Target Clearance section

I've always looked through the clearance rack at Target though more out of habit than actual intent to buy. I always check the clearance rack wherever I shop. There's something more thrilling about shopping the clearance section than the rest of the store. I feel like maybe since you sort of have to search through the racks and there's no real guarantee what you'll find, it's always exciting when you find something you like. It also helps that these finds tend to be cheap.

The Target clearance section in particular tends to have unique stuff priced as low as a dollar at times. Here's what I found. Interestingly enough, I picked up stuff in a huge variety of sizes and ended up buying only the stuff that wasn't in my size. Funny how this stuff works, eh?

License Juniors Flower Love Sleeveless Top - $6.98
Creative name there... I got this in XL. So it's an oversized look which I really like.

License Juniors Princeton Tee - $6.48
I really don't like the fit of this tee. So... I bought it an XL (or large I don't remember) and voila! Oversized look. I can add a belt, tuck it in, make it off-shoulder, etc.

I also got a 3-pack of knee high socks for $5 bucks which was nice.

The Top Notch Dress by Hellz Bellz

I shopped two days in a row this week. Rather than guilting myself I'm just going to be happy with my purchases. I'm pretty excited about this dress :) Ordered it this morning from Plndr. I first spotted this dress in a blog post about Minzy from the girl group 2NE1 wearing it at this blog. Check out the blog, it's awesome :)

It's originally priced at $135 and I got it at... 81% off. Do the math :) You can find it here in the Bargain Bin Sale until it's sold out. I got it in turquoise though now I'm wondering if I should also order it in purple.

Nike Women's Sweet Classic Leather Low Sneaker

Aha! So this morning I pulled a Mr. Rogers. Went to Modell's, bought a (emergency) pair of sneakers, changed in the car, tied my hair up on the subway. I used to be Mr. Rogers back in my first year of college. I'd come home during breaks and then go back to school wearing different shoes and jacket.

Here're the kicks:

I was pretty skeptical at first. Still analyzing them from each angle (it's so much fun being a geek :) to come up with a verdict. I think so far the verdict is YES.

See my issue is, I have this thing about black sneakers. Everything else black is wonderful. But with black sneakers I wince. And it's all because of Reeboks. I remember my grandfather's brother (as well as other old people) used to wear black Reeboks (probably still does). And as a kid, I HATED those. I still HATE them (have you ever seen the ones with velcro straps? OMG!). And I'm still extremely skeptical when it comes to black sneakers. They go in the same category as the color yellow. Not in the same category as toothpaste green because though it's on my color hate list, i do own stuff in that color which I don't hate.

I try to like both. But it requires turning on my geeky superpowers (yes, I have those) and trying to reconcile between my hatred for these things and the possibility of them looking good.

So far, these guys have won. Though I STILL want those Adidas Mids. Workin on it :)
